I was a teacher in the public school system for most of my career. When COVID hit, I was forced to teach first graders from my basement online. While it was not ideal at the time, because of so much uncertainty, the learning curve was HUGE! How Will This Work for Online Teachers?
This is the future of education for all teachers. Not only is this a safer and more exciting way for students to receive quality education directly to their homes, but teachers also get to enjoy teaching from the comfort of their homes, while using their skills to create a platform that will benefit students all over the world. One of the best parts is that teachers can set their own earning potential.
More states have allocated funds for homeschooling recently, as this seems to be a better path for many families. Below is a link to check on your state and available funds. Once you are approved into the program, you will then get access to your “back office” through what’s called the FMS Vortex System. There you will have your own Zoom link, training on how to set up your own YouTube Channel and receive compensation. We will help brand all of our teachers, getting them exposure, and driving students to them.

Here is an example of just one of our wonderful teachers, (I may be a little biased) just waiting to share knowledge and help students prepare for their futures. The YouTube Channel is where you will introduce yourself. This is where you get to brag about yourself! As a qualified teacher, you can teach in your own unique style, showcasing your techniques in teaching those subjects you know best. Remember, while we want good, quality education for our students, we also want to include your uniqueness, excitement, and enthusiasm. When you appeal to your potential students and their parents, your pay will reflect that. The more attractive your video is to your potential students and their parents, the more potential you’ll have to earn what you are worth.
Pay Structure for Online Teachers
So how will our teachers get paid? Since you will be an online Independent Contractor, your pay can be exceptional and essentially determined by you. Class max sizes are 500 and you have the ability to teach multiple grades and subjects. The more time dedicated to teaching on your own schedule, the more you will be compensated.
You be able to access the teaching platform through FMS Vortex and promote it to family and friends, as well as anyone else seeking this amazing education option. You will see that as an independent contractor, your earning potential is virtually limitless.
- When a student accesses a class, $10 is credited to the wallet of the teacher per student per call per month. So if they are teaching 100 students in a session, that would be $1000 for that session for the month. The max would be 500 ($5000) and so on.
- There is no break in pay. The pay structure is set up on a 12-month pay cycle.
- Students are permitted to attend up to 5 classes daily grades 1-8.
- Students are permitted to attend up to 6 classes daily grades 9-12.
- The pay structure will be set up in the FMS Vortex system. Your Zoom classroom fees will be covered upon sign-up. Training for YouTube will be given as well as the curriculum material.
- You can also be compensated for the material you bring to the program if it is shared with other teachers. When part of the FMS Vortex platform, you have the potential to build a huge customer base, partnerships, and teams throughout the world.
What Kind of Teacher Are We Looking For?
We want our Online Education Alternative to be different from any other platform out there. So we want to make sure our instructors are exceptional. We want teachers who are educated and dedicated. We also want enthusiasm and compassion. This isn’t for someone looking for a paycheck and using teaching skills. This is for exceptional teachers who want to draw students in and get paid PER STUDENT, not per class. While we are marketing to get students interested in the program itself, we want them to select YOU so you can benefit BIG!
Here’s what we need for our Online Teachers:
- At least a 4-year degree in the teaching field.
- Experience teaching in the field (college graduates and retired teachers are encouraged).
- We need someone extraordinary who loves teaching and has something wonderful to offer, not just someone looking to earn a check. Dedication and commitment to the program are NECESSARY.
- Join the FMS Vortex, through DTCA. This is the payment structure that will be used.
- Create a YouTube channel and video, showcasing your qualifications. Brag about yourself! Introduce yourself and your talents to attract potential families (training and instruction will be provided).
- Set a higher standard in education that is different from the traditional school systems.
Start-Up Fees
We do not get government funding to open our school, so we ask teachers’ help initially to offset the cost. These fees are technical support and operation costs, and can also be tax deductible. Think of these fees as what you would spend on car maintenance, union dues (if you had to pay them), new clothes and shoes, and eating out or coffee from the drive-through going to an on-site job. We will gain most of the income from the student enrollment fees to pay teachers. Here’s a breakdown:
- $50 Annual Enrollment: As a private school, we report all staff for taxation purposes and operational functions. Since you will be part of Brainfood Academy, this is your own private yearly access to operate within the confines of our program.
- $59.95 Monthly Access Fee: We need a strong security system since we are building a foundation for curriculum, private resources, and a student base. We have purchased the aid of IT experts in the market, partnering with a Zoom platform to build an amazing platform that is Brainfood Academy. This kind of security is very necessary, but also not cheap, so to keep the cost of admissions low and keep the student enrollment coming, we ask for this cost offset.
Your access fees will cover:
- Your own personal Zoom account
- Your back office
- Resource material at your fingertips
- Security for your student base
- Access to your payroll dashboard
- Brainfood Academy curriculum
- Any new information released throughout your time, exclusive to Brainfood Academy.
So in essence, to onboard Brainfood Academy, it will cost you a total of $109.95 plus tax to get you started. That’s a lot less than new clothes, car maintenance, lunches, etc. to go teach at a traditional school. And you get to teach from home to students at home. What a great move, if you choose!
