I started reading the book, Marketing Is Freedom, by Rory Ricord, a summer ago. Marketing has always interested me. Technically, I had been marketing my husband and his music, trying to get him gigs for a while, so I wanted to learn more on how to do it better. It was a quick and easy read for me. Entertaining actually, especially since I met Rory Ricord himself when I went on this solo journey. He’s the real deal!

Yes, the book is about Marketing. It was a user manual for me since I came from a public school setting and hadn’t had any real training in marketing. I didn’t learn it in school, necessarily, but it is all around us. We all need to know the Law of Marketing, which is something Rory covers quite often. Most of us haven’t learned it, as we think marketing is the same as sales, which it is not.
